As on November, 2019 there are 30 companies in Ukraine operating biogas power plants having obtained the "green tariff" and generating up to 72.5 MW of electric power. Today the "green tariff" for the BPP set into operation after January 01, 2015 is 0,1238 €/kW*hour. While planning to implement a BPP construction project, one should take into account the following factors determining the project success:

• Support with raw materials in the required amount and of the required quality under long-term contracts or availability of the own raw materials all year long;
• Feasibility of using advanced technologies for the given raw materials, availability of alternative raw materials;
• Construction site location taking into account social, ecologic details and logistics;
• Ability to get connected to the power supply system.

The project development budget on a 'turn-key' basis will be approximately € 2500 per 1 MW of the rated capacity on the average. The rate of return, as well as other investment indexes of the project efficiency, depend mainly both upon the capital costs amount and upon the entry cost of the raw materials being up to 70 % of all project operating costs.
